Biofuels
Energy
The use of fossil fuels is the most significant contributor to greenhouse gas emission and air pollution. With environmental concerns, renewable clean energy is of significant importance. Biomass is considered as a renewable energy source capable of providing a small portion of the world's steadily growing energy demand currently being supplied mostly by fossil fuels especially in the OECD countries. According to the EIA (2011), biomass supplies a small but growing share of the industrial sector energy basket among the OECD countries from 7% in 2008 to 10% in 2035.
Advanced CERT Canada is capable of offering consultation and research and development (R&D) services in biofuel technologies, focusing on process design, performance improvement and cost aspects.
